Thesis
A theoretical and empirical approach of the negotiations between health authorities and pharmaceutical firms
Supervisor
Izabela Jelovac
In many countries, pharmaceutical reimbursement is subject to price negotiations in order to limit relative public expenditure. The difficulty of these negotiations is that they must both limit prices and allow an environment favorable to pharmaceutical innovations and circulation. More, still with the aim of limiting public spending, a number of countries are adopting cost containment policies.
The objective of my work is to see the effect of competition on these negotiations and how it affects this type of public policies. In a second step, I would like to analyze whether there are more efficient public policies to limit public spending while preserving the interest of patients and a favorable environment for innovation.
